Original Artworks (Fine Art Collection)

About the Collection

The Original Artworks Collection features a range of cultural artworks spanning fine art prints, A5 card prints, and one-of-a-kind original pieces created using ochre, charcoal, and acrylic on canvas, as well as specialty papers and fabrics.

Each work draws from the stories, styles, and patterns of Narungga, Kaurna, and Trawlwoolway peoples, sharing specialised knowledge and ancestral connections to land, water, and sky. The collection reflects both traditional symbolism and contemporary design, honouring cultural continuity through modern creative expression.

Creative Approach

Daen Sansbury-Smith’s artistic process combines hand-drawn linework, digital composition, and natural pigmentssuch as ochre and charcoal, blending cultural motifs with evolving design techniques.

The works often explore movement, memory, and connection to Country, translating oral histories and cultural knowledge into visual narratives. Many pieces are developed alongside community Elders and cultural advisors, ensuring that each artwork maintains authenticity, permission, and respect for cultural protocols.

Displayed as prints, originals, and digital formats, these artworks serve both as decorative pieces and storytelling tools, reconnecting viewers to the landscapes, languages, and lineages they represent.

From the Artist — Daen Sansbury-Smith (Adjadura Studio)

My practice is rooted in connection — to people, place, and story. Each artwork represents a continuation of knowledge passed down through generations, expressed through pattern, form, and rhythm.

Using both traditional and digital mediums allows me to keep culture living and evolving, while also creating accessible ways for others to engage with First Nations stories. These works are as much about preservation as they are about innovation, carrying forward our visual languages into new spaces and audiences.
